RdRp Summit 2027
RdRp Summit 2027 is an international scientific meeting for researchers working on RNA-dependent RNA polymerases across virology, evolution, bioinformatics, and structural biology.
It takes place in Jena, Germany, and online on 12-13 March 2027. It is a satellite event of ViBioM 2027, held in Jena on 9-11 March for the tenth anniversary of the European Virus Bioinformatics Center, so both meetings can be attended on one trip.
Building on two previous summits
The first RdRp Summit, held in Valencia in 2023, brought together more than 70 participants from over 50 research institutions, with a high representation of early career researchers. The second, held in Lisbon in 2025, was supported by ISME, which funded travel grants for early career researchers.
Each summit produced a published community consensus statement: 2023, Frontiers in Virology and 2025, Peer Community Journal.
Between summits, the community runs the RNA Virus Journal Club and open working groups on benchmarking, phylogeny, and host-virus interactions.
What will be added
The programme, invited speakers, registration, abstract deadlines, and fees are being worked out by the organising committee. This page will be updated as each is confirmed. For announcements, follow the community Slack or Bluesky.
